At times like these, we’re especially grateful to have such close relationships with you, our valued patients. Effective management of glaucoma is a team effort. And while any vision loss occurring as a result of glaucoma cannot be reversed, the progression of glaucoma can be controlled.

Here are three important guidelines that empower our patients to live without being limited by their glaucoma:
As your trusted lifelong eye health partner, the most important element of glaucoma management is continual, open communication with us. Each time you visit, bring up any changes in vision, any discomfort, or side effects from medication. List any questions you have for your next appointment or phone call, and jot down the answers.
Always use medications and eye drops as directed. Read all instructions, or have someone read them to you. Call us if you have any questions, or if you are experiencing side effects. Many patients find it helpful to create a schedule with the times and quantities needed for each medication, and use an alarm clock or phone reminders to help stick to it.
Dealing with a long-term condition like glaucoma takes a toll on all areas of well-being. Healthy living will not only reduce the risk of additional glaucoma complications, but also help keep your spirits up and your body active.
You can live a full life with glaucoma! That may be hard to believe immediately after receiving a diagnosis, but confidence grows with knowledge. By building a relationship with us, we are better able to provide you with the absolute best care options.
